Reflections from Holme
June marks the launch of two anthologies I have had the honour to edit. ‘Reflections from Holme’ from the Holmfirth Writers is launched on Monday 7th June in Holmfirth, and the Capturing Words anthology is launched at the University of Leeds on the following Monday. Both contain stunning work, the first from writers based in the Holme Valley in Kirklees, and the second from six high schools in West Yorkshire. Both collections have brilliant poetry about landscape, a continuing pre-occupation of poets and artists.-John Nash
Writers from the Holmfirth Creative Writing Group read poetry, prose and short stories to launch their newly published book, Reflections of Holme. Accompanied by the inspirational images of Andy Leader, valley photographer, the evocative pieces draw on valley life past and present to paint a picture of the landscape that has a profound effect on the lives of the people who have lived there past and present.
Holmfirth Writers’ Groups’s first publication, Reflections of Holme, has been produced in partnership with landscape photographer Andy Leader and edited by writer James Nash. If you are passionate about the landscape of the Pennine foothills or simply wish to enjoy a varied selection of local writing and poetry, Reflections of Holme offers you a unique insight into the people and places of the Holme Valley.
